What to Eat
Sebastopol is a Foodie Paradise! Many of our restaurants pride themselves on their farm-to-table local sourcing of fruits and vegetables, meats, cheeses, breads and spirits. Whether you are looking for organic, raw, vegan or gluten-free, you will find it here. We have an eclectic mix of international cuisines, and a broad range of pricing: From quick pick-up eateries, salad bars and delicatessens, to family restaurants or candlelight dinners. We have it all!
As for drink, there are taverns and microbreweries, wine tasting rooms and a local distillery. Special ciders are made from our heritage Gravenstein apple. You can also sample specialty teas at local tea houses and get fair trade, organically grown coffee at several of our coffee houses. And for a bit of Europe in our own backyard, you can enjoy a classic high tea Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
For unique after-dinner treats, check out our ice cream stores with locally made flavors, a frozen yogurt bar, and molecular gastronomy frozen desserts.
Where to shop:
Sebastopol is filled with independent, locally owned, unique and creative businesses. Check out our Historic Downtown with its vintage buildings and eclectic charm. Or mosey in The Barlow, our make-sell development where you can meet the creators of the wares for sale. There are artisans, and galleries, antiques, jewelry, new clothes and gently used recycled clothes, shoe shops and kitchen wares, devotional art, and bicycle stores. We have independent bookstores, art supplies and music stores. And on Sundays we have the Farmer’s Market with food and hand-crafted items from herbs to yarns to baskets and drums.
